Job Description

The Fuxman Bass lab (www.fuxmanlab.com) in the Biology Department at Boston University is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative post-doctoral researcher with a background in molecular biology, genomics or a related field to join our team. The lab is broadly interested in transcriptional regulation in healthy and pathogenic conditions, and integrates high-throughput protein-DNA mapping assays, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, bioinformatics, systems biology, and cell biology approaches. Main projects in the lab include:

-        Studying specificity and plasticity in the transcriptional regulation of cytokine genes.

-        Determining the causes and consequences of gene regulatory network rewiring by transcription factor isoforms in cancer.

-        Determine how virally-encoded transcription factors hijack the host’s gene regulatory networks to modulate immune responses.

-        Identifying noncoding driver mutations in cancer.

-        Studying the transcriptional regulation of pluripotency genes and developing strategies to generate iPSCs and differentiate them into different cell types.

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative individual who will be responsible for designing and executing studies in one or more of the above topics. Experience in molecular biology, cell culture, bioinformatics, and/or genomics are recommended.
